Health report: the first step to better health at the workplace
Do you know how your employees are really doing? Give your employees the opportunity to express themselves in a confidential online survey.
Goals of analyzing your employees’ health:
- Identify the greatest potential for health promotion and the causes of stress and undue strain
- Get an insight into the health behavior of your workforce and an understanding of the stressors and sources of discomfort for your employees
- Enable targeted occupational health management with the efficient use of financial and other resources
- Examine the effectiveness of OHM with a second survey
The health report promotes health at the workplace
Employees can answer questions about their health and working conditions and receive a personal report. The company receives an aggregated report to assess the condition of employees’ health for each analyzed area. This makes it possible to identify areas of action for promoting health at the workplace.
Productivity monitor: developing productivity by promoting health at the workplace
Reduced labor productivity leads to at least three times the costs incurred by absences. This means there is great potential in recovering this lost labor productivity. The productivity monitor identifies these areas of potential, calculates the gains resulting from the program for your company, as well as determines the return on investment for health promotion measures.
Diminished health conditions lead to falling labor productivity
We can assume that the labor productivity of employees decreases when they suffer from mental or physical complaints. In the health survey (health report), employees answer questions about their own health. As a result, the health of employees can be accurately and anonymously classified as “balanced”, “stretched” or “struggling”.
The productivity monitor calculates the return on investment
After measures are carried out, the employees are surveyed once again to determine the productivity increase. When calculating labor productivity, only the salary costs are taken into account. The indirect costs, such as those for substitute staff or organizational expenditure, are not included in the calculations. At the former Neue Aargauer Bank AG (now UBS), for example, a 1.5% increase in labor productivity was determined after three years. This corresponded to a return on investment (ROI) of 568,000 francs.
Three categories of health at the workplace
- Balanced: Energy levels are balanced and physical complaints are rare. The risk of illness is low and general well-being is at a good to very good level.
- Stretched: A small number of mental and physical symptoms occur from time to time. The risk of illness is moderate and general well-being may be unsatisfactory depending on the day. Labor productivity is conservatively estimated to be reduced by 15%.
- Struggling: Physical complaints and poor recovery are an everyday occurrence. This is reflected in the atmosphere and well-being suffers. Medication is frequently taken. The risk of a chronic illness increases. Labor productivity is conservatively estimated to be reduced by 40%.
