Measuring stress in the company

Employees who do not face sustained stress suffer less frequently from physical complaints, have better moods, and are calmer and more productive. By measuring heart rate variability, it is possible to objectively measure strains, stress, and recovery capacity as well as develop individual measures to reduce stress.

Objective measurement method

To determine stress levels, we measure the employees’ heart rate variability (HRV). This HRV measurement indicates how well the pulse is able to adjust to different situations. This adaptability enables us to call upon the energy we need to deal with mental and physical stresses and to recover quickly in relaxed situations. The greater this adaptability is, the better people can handle stress.

Stress measurement process

Stress measurement is suitable for all employees, no matter if they are thoroughly relaxed or stressed. The objective measurement enables each employee to sharpen their self-perception and identify their greatest stressors.

  1. The participants wear a small HRV sensor directly over their heart for 72 hours.

  2. Their subjective perception is also surveyed using an online questionnaire.

  3. The recorded energy curve shows when the participants’ energy is in balance and the autonomic nervous system is healthy, or whether the effect of stress is apparent.

  4. The results are summarized in an easy-to-understand manner and discussed in an individual coaching session. If necessary, measures can be developed to improve the energy balance.

Benefits of participating in stress measurement

  • Obtain an overall picture of your personal health
  • Determine your personal energy level
  • Identify a potential risk of stress
  • Increase performance and allow for sufficient recovery
  • Improve quality of sleep

Stress measurement analysis

Thanks to the report and coaching, employees can answer questions about their stress level such as:

  • When do the greatest stressors (energy drains) arise?
  • During which moment can I best recover?
  • How sharply does my energy level really drop during the afternoon?
  • Is the solution jogging every day and eating five portions of fruit and vegetables?
  • Where is my personal energy potential?
